The Director of Multicultural Student Success is an advocate for, and supports, domestic students majoring in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who self-identify as: African American, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian American, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Latina/o, and/or Multiracial. They also provide leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of diversity and inclusion initiatives for students.
The Director of Multicultural Student Success, in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA), works closely with students, staff, faculty, advisers, and administrators in the college and throughout the university to:
- Support recruitment of underrepresented student populations
- Promote student retention by monitoring academic progress and helping students connect with key resources on campus
- Advance student success through the development of programs and initiatives, such as the BOLD Learning Community
- Engage students who are interested in learning more about diversity and inclusion
